A Beautiful Curve
I think sometimes we can get used to something and not see it as it becomes too familiar, but the way that the Aston Expressway cuts through this part of Birmingham is quite joyful. It sounds like constant skateboarders. The curve of the road and the scale of the supporting structure gives this place a real presence.
The original print combines linocut, drypoint and giclee. It was a deceptively complex print to execute and the colours have kept the piece quite understated.
