I’m keen to do more views that depict events. The problem is that I’m rubbish at making sure I’m in a particular place at a particular time. Eventually I made it to the Half Marathon and stood just outside one of the ‘oggie, oggie, oggie’ tunnels near the end. I didn’t respond with an ‘oy’, just gentle applause and unspoken encouragement. They do put people’s names on their number plates and I think that adds quite a lot of fun as groups of people pick on a straggler and give them a vocal push ‘Come on Derek, you’re awesome mate.’
As a view, I like the going in and coming back out. The runners disappear in the darkness directly under the tunnel. I was not inspired in anyway by 28 days later in the making of this print.
