Cafe at Moor Street Station

£22.00£40.00

This was one of the first prints in the series, created early in 2016. I approached the owners of the café (Caffe Ideas), looking for a view of Birmingham’s film set station framed through their doorway. I emphasised the curves of the door and windows, trying to achieve an almost fish eye lens viewpoint. The station beyond ended up almost secondary to the doorway and café which leads me to want to make another view of the station in the future. Some places and structures keep drawing me back. I come away from them with too many ‘must-do’ views.
Hiroshige’s views of Edo would often have a view of a district, followed up by a close up of a building or business from that district. I would love to create a view that is more connected with the function of the station: commuters, trains, journeys etc. set against the beautiful ironwork or perhaps looking through the ironwork of the station.
