Guardian Victoria Square

Guardian Victoria Square
The Guardian is the title of this particular sculpture by Indian artist Dhruva Mistry. I’m a fan. They look good in prints as well. My children used to climb onto the top of them when they were too young and it was clearly dangerous. Eventually, like timid cats, they would come back down and I would look cross as a wasp for 10 minutes.
In this print I really stuck with that greige colour scheme. It quite accurately reflects the colour of the square during rain. Perhaps a vividly coloured umbrella could have been used as a focal point. I don’t get to use my favourite orange/red often enough. The chance has gone though in this print unless I get the felt tips out.
As a linocut nerd, I love how this print came together, simple but effective.
I do have some of the original prints left from this view, priced at £150. This listing is for the open edition, signed giclée. If you are interested in the original please contact me directly and I will send photos of the original print that I have available.
