Halfway Up!

Rather like Westward Ho! This is the only one that has an exclamation mark. Primarily made using engraving, I wanted the Hall of Memories to feature strongly in this print. I particularly like this building looking down on it from above. Somebody described the Library’s façade as geometric filigree and I thought that was concise and beautiful, it is what I have called it ever since.

This print was made over a hot summer of still and oppressive heat. I stood there in my shorts and t-shirt sketching it out. I wanted the heat to be reflected in the print and that was one of the reasons why I chose the cream coloured paper and warm palette. Also imagine the sounds of pneumatic drills, dust in the air and a slight feeling of ‘what on Earth are they doing?’ A feeling that I’m familiar with.

Prints can take up to two weeks to come but I aim to be much quicker.

I have a small number of these left as original prints.
