Winterbourne and Passerines
Quite different from other views in the series because it is not recognisably in a city. This was my first print following a lockdown and I really enjoyed working in the studio, exploring quite complicated printing methods. The sky in particular was really complicated to print. The bird and yew tree are created using engravings with the house and trained trees created with linocut. I wanted to use the blue tits in the print because they have been such a feature of my own time in lockdown, noticing how much the garden has filled up with them. This is in part because I feed them, but also I think because the reduction in traffic has given them the confidence to leave the local parks and allotments.
